About Our Organization

The University of the Philippines Mathematics Majors' Circle (UPMMC) is a non-sectarian, non-partisan, academic organization duly recognized by the Institute of Mathematics, College of Science, University of the Philippines Diliman. Since the establishment of UPMMC in 1977, the organization has been dedicated mainly to scientific, intellectual, and educational pursuits, particularly in the field of mathematics. UPMMC prides itself in creating an environment conducive for lasting friendships and individuality. After all, we are not just an org, we're a family.

Members

UPMMC is currently made up of more than 70 undergraduate students and alumni who have great enthusiasm and intellectual passion in the field of Mathematics. Although the members are mostly Mathematics students, the organization also welcomes students from other institutes and colleges within the University of the Philippines Diliman. UP Diliman students who wish to be part of the UPMMC family may do so by undergoing the organization’s application process held every semester.

The Committees

The organization is made up of six standing committees:

Academic Committee - in charge of the organization’s academic activities and the scholarship screening process
Special Affairs Committee - in charge of the organization’s non-academic and non-fundraising activities
Secretariat Committee - in charge of keeping the organization’s papers, and writing and compiling minutes of General Membership Meetings
Finance Committee - in charge of the organization’s fundraising activities
Publicity Committee - in charge of the organization’s publications and communiqués
Membership Committee - in charge of the organization’s membership matters
